Description

This small, prostrate herb grows in many places, including parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. It has green, opposite, oblong leaves, bright yellow or white, five-petaled flowers and an unusual and distinct spiky and hairy fruit.

The roots, leaves and fruits of tribulus terrestris are considered a diuretic and aphrodisiac. They are used for reducing blood sugar and cholesterol, maintaining urinary tract health and increased sexual function and libido and are popular within Traditional Chinese Medicine and Indian Ayurveda medicine. It is thought to increase testosterone, which is important to fertility and libido, and is effective in building muscle.
